FAQs
We know starting physical therapy can come with a lot of questions — from what to expect at your first visit to how scheduling works. Here you’ll find clear answers to help you feel confident and ready to Get Moving. Stay Moving. If you don’t see your question here, just reach out — we’re happy to help.
If you're dealing with pain, stiffness, weakness, or recurring tightness that’s limiting your movement or performance, physical therapy can help. You don’t have to wait for an injury to “get bad enough.” We work with active individuals to address early symptoms, prevent injuries, and optimize how your body moves—so you can stay active and feel your best. If you’re unsure, contact us to help you decide if PT is right for you.
No! North Carolina is a direct access state, which means you can start physical therapy without a doctor’s referral. This allows you to get care faster, without delays or extra appointments. This, however, does not apply to individuals with Medicare or Medicaid insurance.
Your first visit is a one-hour, one-on-one session with your physical therapist in a quiet, comfortable setting. We’ll start by listening to your story—your symptoms, goals, and the activities that matter most to you. Then we’ll perform a thorough musculoskeletal assessment to identify the root cause of any pain or dysfunction. We’ll walk you through a personalized plan of care tailored to your lifestyle, with exercises and/or strategies you can begin right away. Expect to leave feeling heard, supported, and empowered with a clear next step.
You can speak directly with your therapist directly in a timely manner to address any questions or concerns—no automated systems or receptionists unfamiliar with your care.
You’ll always be seen by the same Doctor of Physical Therapy, not passed between therapists, assistants, or aides.
You receive the full, undivided attention of your therapist for the entire session instead of sharing your therapist with 2-3 other patients or watch them working on their computer the whole time.
Your care is provided by a therapist with over 15 years of experience and advanced specialty training instead of a student or novice therapist.
We are not bound by insurance restrictions and can provide continued care until you reach your goals instead of having to discharge early due to visit limits, medical necessity or corporate policies.
You can often get started within days, without long wait times.
We offer early morning and evening appointments to fit your schedule.
In-home visits are available if you’re unable to travel to the clinic.
Progression of your plan of care toward your goals is our priority instead of coming in and doing the same exercises at every appointment.
